You have powered this network long before any token existed. We owe you clarity, honesty and decisions that protect the long term value of what we are building together.
Today’s update contains two important messages:
- Our TGE will not launch in the previously anticipated window
- Eligible participants will have the opportunity to redeem up to 50% of their earned beta rewards for USDC, without waiting for mainnet.
This is not an easy announcement to make. But we’re choosing the hard, right path over the easy, risky one. We’re allocating $400,000 USD for our community as part of this initiative.
Why We’re Making This Call
Here’s the truth many Web3 projects this cycle avoid saying out loud:
A sustainable token comes from real revenue, real usage and real enterprise partners.
When done “the right way”, launching a token costs millions. It requires deep liquidity, institutional-grade market makers, and a product backed by real-world demand.
We’ve studied the recent wave of TGEs that launched into fatigue, low liquidity, and no long-term demand.
We refuse to become another cautionary tale.
Enterprise partnerships involve long sales cycles, and those opportunities only open up once the network itself reaches meaningful scale globally. To that end, the team has spent months doubling down on our industry-first AI tooling, navigating regulatory approvals and go-to-market requirements, and adopting new use cases to increase revenue opportunities. Global aviation players now see real-world value in what this community has created.
While most traditional companies take many years to IPO, there are high expectations for DePIN projects to become “mature enough” to deliver publicly tradeable value in a much shorter timeframe.
We are building a network meant to last decades - we don’t want to fall trap to hype-cycles.
What This Means for TGE
We
cannot share a final TGE date today, but here’s what we can say with confidence:
- We have commitments from strong exchanges and liquidity partners
- We are not doing an influencer-driven circulation campaign
- We are not diluting community allocations
- There will be no team or investor unlocks at TGE
- Only station operators will unlock on Day One (no other categories will receive unlocks at TGE)
We aim to make this one of the most community-aligned token launches in the DePIN space, and we intend to keep it that way.
Redeem a portion of your rewards pre-TGE
We know delays come with real costs: hosting maintenance, power and internet, dedicating time and energy.
To honor that commitment, we’re offering a one-time
Reward Redemption Program for active station operators:
Eligible station operators can redeem up to 50% of their contributor rewards for USDC on Solana, ahead of mainnet.
If everyone who qualifies for this offer decides to redeem 50% of their rewards, approximately $400,000 in USDC will be distributed under this program. It will be a significant but worthy expense to make sure the community feels fairly compensated.
- Eligibility: Any active beta station operator with more than 15,000 Wings
- Distribution: USDC redemption amount will be sent directly to your Solana wallet.
- Amount: You may redeem up to 50% of your eligible rewards. Before you decide, your dashboard will display the maximum USDC amount available to you under this program. For the sole purpose of calculating that maximum amount, Wingbits applies a fixed internal conversion factor of US$0.005 per eligible reward credit. This conversion factor is used only as an internal calculation parameter to recognize contribution value under this voluntary program and does not represent, and should not be relied on as, a market price, token price, valuation, or indication of the current or future value of any reward, credit, or token.
- Purpose: The redemption rate is set to recognize the time, costs, and contribution of active station operators and will remain the same for all eligible participants in this one-time program.
- Timeline: Ten days to opt in via your dashboard; USDC is currently targeted for distribution in mid-December. You’ll be able to confirm your interest in this program directly in your dashboard from December 1 until 11:59PM UTC on December 10.
- Note: Any redeemed rewards will not receive the 20% online bonus post-TGE
This is not a token sale, buyback, or investment event; it’s a voluntary redemption of part of your contribution-based, non-transferable rewards, designed to provide flexibility and immediate value to long-time supporters.
To be clear: this offer is entirely optional. We want you to ride with us to TGE and beyond. But we also understand, it’s been a long road, and some may want to lock in part of their rewards now.
Why We’re Doing This
“Community-first” is not just a slogan for us. We always want our community to eat first.
You’re the ones who built this network from the ground up - station by station, hex by hex. You took the leap of faith early and you generated the data that makes this ecosystem real.
We hope this offer is a fair one - without cutting corners, and without forgetting who built this network in the first place.
As far as we can tell, we are entering new territory. This kind of offer has not been made to any Web3/DePIN community before, so as always, we welcome your collaborative feedback.
Looking Ahead
We know delays create frustration, noise and speculation. We weighed those risks carefully and made the hard choice not to compromise long-term value for short-term relief.
TGE isn’t the end - it’s the beginning. We only get one shot at launching this token the right way, with the right foundations, and we owe it to every station operator to do it properly.
We are forever grateful that you took the first leap of faith, patiently kept your stations online with moving TGE timelines and continued to believe in this vision before the world caught on. For that, you deserve a launch that reflects the true value of what you’ve built.
