Has Canadian aviation peaked Poll

Is the Canadian aviation industry still expanding, or has it peaked?

  • It is at its peak

    5.9%
  • It peaked a while ago

    41.2%
  • It still has room to grow

    50.0%
  • It is near the bottom

    2.9%

Depends on the context.

As a profession?
It's slowly rising up from the bottom. Airlines and society are starting to value and respect pilots again. Slowly, very slowly, it is happening. I doubt we'll get back to where we were in the 90s, unfortunately.

Air Travel as an industry?
It's growing, and becoming more important.

Based on information coming out of WJ staff, no hiring for 2026, looks like we may have peaked.
However, reports are saying the Canadian economy performed better than expected due to the tariffs and more Canadians are travelling than last year.
A lot depends on how the rest of the world performs when the US economy collapses, this seems inevitable to me but that will have down the line ramifications for many, especially it’s largest trading partners!

Aviation is sure sensitive to any economic pressures. I wonder if its not also a indicator of whats not yet realized in the economy.

Absolutely, airlines are typically the first to feel it and last to recover, I would say they are a good indicator for what’s coming
