As a profession?
It's slowly rising up from the bottom. Airlines and society are starting to value and respect pilots again. Slowly, very slowly, it is happening. I doubt we'll get back to where we were in the 90s, unfortunately.
Air Travel as an industry?
It's growing, and becoming more important.
Based on information coming out of WJ staff, no hiring for 2026, looks like we may have peaked.
However, reports are saying the Canadian economy performed better than expected due to the tariffs and more Canadians are travelling than last year.
A lot depends on how the rest of the world performs when the US economy collapses, this seems inevitable to me but that will have down the line ramifications for many, especially it’s largest trading partners!
